I posted this also in truck 911 forum. I'm hoping for more "eye traffic" here.
I was driving along, hit the go pedal hard, truck went then engine died. Had it towed it home which sucked, because it was a Chevy tow truck.
I can get it started, but it acts as if its running on less than all 6 cylinders. When it runs, there is no throttle response. It runs about 300rpm and really rough, no matter how much you push on the throttle. I have changed the fuel filter just yesterday. The volts gauge shows only about 10v when it's barely running. Odometer shows code of P1693. Truck only has 68,800 miles on it. It's a 2001 ETH 4x4 6-speed and all stock except for the air filter and exhaust system. It has run flawless up to now. I would really like to find out what's wrong. I haven't checked fuel pressure yet. When the engine runs (barely) the check engine light is on.
I have plenty of tools, a service manual, but haven't had to work on this Cummins before.
I'm counting on the TDR community for some help here!
