I am currently using the OEM Fleetguard air filter and OEM airbox. I want to stay with OEM air box. Is anyone using this (Amsoil) air filter? I believe the correct filter for my application is the EAA-106. Does it flow more air than the stock Fleetguard filter if so, that much more where it would be worth the extra cost and does it clean as well as the OEM filter or at least nearly so? I read the article in the Feb/Mar TDR magazine article comparing air filters but this particular filter was not tested. I am looking for something that is a good compromise between the K&N drop in filter and the OEM filter that will work well in the stock air box. Thank in advance for the replies and feedback.

I am running an oval cone version of this filter in a home made box (see signature for pics) and it is working well for me. I have done oil analysis and this showed the filter was doing a good job so I'm a believer. Yes it will flow better than a stock paper filter and filter much better than a K&N (in my experience). I ran a K&N drop-in for a while with greased edges and all that and it didn't work well.

I have the Nano fibers in both my rigs, the CTD and a 4runner. They are a great replacement filter, but are designed as a stock replacement. I never pull the filter minder down with my 40hp setting on the SJR, but it pulls down pretty quick on the 100hp setting, even on a very short WOT run... So if your air requirements are near stock then you will be fine, but if you need a lot more air that stock I would look at something else.

I used the nano dropin with stockbox on my '99 w /Mach 1. 6 injectors and an Edge EZ. It wouldn't touch the filterminder. I dyno'd @ 320 rwhp and 690 trq. Good setup. Quiet!:)

Part # EAA106 is correct. Mine seems to flow better than stock. To clean a use the house vaccum with brush attachment.
