I'm having the exact same thing happening to my truck. 185 empty going down the highway. Up to 225 pulling up hill and parking in an RV spot. I bought a B&M cooler and will install it soon. Just trying to decide where i want to put it. It has a fan and i want to run it by a switch also. Looking for some ideas.

Not going to help keep the max temps down. You are seeing those because the TC is unlocked and an extra cooler simply will not remedy that.

Your numbers are pretty normal and are not anywhere near a danger zone. ATF+4 has the ability to stand 100 degrees over what you are seeing.

Adding another cooler into the stock system is more detrimental than helpful as you are interrupting the trans lube flow for essentially no gain. Shorting the trans of lube and cooling to the hard parts is much harder than the temps you are seeing.

You would be much better off changing fluid more often than adding another cooler that does not have its own pumping source. :)
