Competition How much fuel to spool ht3b?

Dear ladies and Gents: I am going to put twins on but can't decide on which smaller turbo to run. My big is a garrett t76 and I will BOV it to 50lbs. max. I have a htb2 that is rebuilt but I think that is too big. I want either another garrett or an hx40 (I think!) but do you guys have any ideas? I plan on running a wastegate and limiting boost to the little guy at 25 to 30 lbs and my truck is as follows - 98. 5 5 in exhaust , edge comp not hooked up, hx35 now, 1200 torque transmission and low stall billet conv, extral large (dc9 hydraulic oil cooler) trans cooler, bd exhaust ported manifold, afe +2, guages, and bullydog propane kit. I just use the propane for mileage (about 3 to 4 mpg while towing and my goal is to run 50lbs boost with quick response and low egt's. yes I will put head studs and bigger (150's) injectors when I put the compounds on. Any tips on the little guy? I think I can be bigger than the hx35 and still spool quicker compounding with reduced temps- you tell me

the HTB2 is a 62/65/14? if only 50psi just run the HTB2 alone, if your goal is only 400hp you dont need twins. ... or if you must, go with a 57/12 S300 or similar garret for the top. and 5/8 fuel line is way overkill, esp with a 1/4 return line! the low stall means you need a VERY responsive turbo or SMALL twins (towing BDs). with 150hp inj. and no tap you'll have 300hp @wheels hardly needs twins for that! keep it real and you'll be happier.

OK, some basics here. If you run the primary"big"(t76 for you) @50psi and the top turbo @30psi you'll have near 80psi total. Also even with the 150hp inj. you NEED to hook up the pump tap to utilize twins. Again for your goals a 57/12 s300 and a 66/16 s300 set I think will be what you are looking for. BD (among others) makes such a set. Try calling the many shops on the sponsors page and after you talk to ALL of them, make an INFORMED decision with the vender of your liking!:)

not to but in on this thread. . BUT - I have the HTT 66/14 (really old one), and for daily driving it is a bit slow... So I though of switching to a 62/14...

On the other hand, I did not know the towing twins were both s300 variants. SOOO... could I just add my stock turbo on top of my 66mm (put a 16cm housing though on it) ?? - make like a cheap towing twins setup?

BD twins are both s300s. IIRC industrial uses a s300/K31 and Poole s300/400 or HX40/HT3B sets. you'll need to consult vendors or do some research to devolope a set-up that'll perform well on YOUR truck the way YOU'LL use it.
if your stocker was a HY9 then its prolly too small and AT LEAST would need an external gate added. but some folks do run that set up. If you want to keep 600+hp cool the s300/400, HX40/HT3b, s300/K31 twins will work much better.
