I installed a new stock trans (using all my old electronics). The trans shifted fine until about two weeks ago, now it is "Hunt Shifting" on slow take offs. The company I purchase the trans from said I need to reset the computer in order for the computer to reconize the new trans. (How do you reset) Makes no sense because I am using my old electronics. Any input would be a big help.

When I had my 98 Dakota with the Hunt-o-matic I had to adjust the TV Cable and it stopped the hunting of the trans.

With that said (and me driving a 6spd) the service manaul says the 48RE has a tv cable but the picture they give is of a gasser??? I don't know where the tv cable would connect on the diesel but I thought I would would throw this idea out there... Hope it helps!!

On a diesel truck, I believe the Throttle Valve Cable connects to bell crank on the side of the APPS (Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor) bracket... front left side of the engine.

See the attached pages from the 2003 Dodge Service Manual for complete inspection and adjustment procedures. Just ignore the parts applicable to gasoline powered trucks only.

Thanks for the help. I also got my Transgo shift kit today. I will be installing this weekend. I will follow up on both the adjustment and the kit installation.

That did the trick, took me a minute to find the fastener behind the upper radiator hose that holds the dust cover and figured out NOT to remove the cable from the bracket just to slide the white safety click one notch. Thanks a bunch.
