I just got my winch bumper on the truck in time to go wheeling Steelbender in Moab.

Then I ended up needing to drive to Portland OR the next week and decided to take the CTD.

And on the way home PLOWED a deer on I-84 between Boisie and Twin Falls, ID. Dad always told me not to outdrive my lights, and 75 @ 1:30 AM is outdriving your lights.

The aftermath... ...

Slightly bent the tie rod and now it handles a little better. I guess it needed a 1 deer adjustment. :-laf

It was one of those trips... I nearly hit an Elk the next night on Hwy 6 in UT.

I am REALLY glad I took the CTD. That bumper just paid for itself. The deer that hit the Suburban didn't hit near as hard and did 3k worth of damage.

Now that I have the new bumper on and 'tested' I have some used, not pristine, but useable black plastic front bumper pieces available for Pay it Forward. PM with what you need for details. The center piece is nice.

(Thanks Phillip, I never used it, but I got it when I needed a boost, thx).

get you some good Daylighter Spot lights for that bumper or yours and itll be dang sure impossible to out run your lights. atlest in our trucks it will :-laf

Do a HID retrofit like I did, but with E46 projectors instead. You will never outdrive your headlights ever again. And the 35 watt HIDs put my 4 100 watt KCs to shame. Maybe 8 KCs will match my 2 35 watt headlights, maybe...

Nice bumper for deer plowing! Better then mine for sure!

BTW, is the third picture on Hwy 26 coming off mt hood?

I like the HID conversion. My main concern would be oncoming traffic. (I had my lows ondue to oncoming traffic when I went thump)

You must drive that a bit. :) Can't get much more different than Moab.

So much cloud cover I couldn't see the mountain I was driving around though. :) We decided to take Hwy 26 to Boise for a change of scenery as we took 84 to Portland.

Highsteer time,... we think alike. :-laf

Just gotta wait for funds for crossover and highsteer.

New shoes just got all my spare change and then a little. 35" BFG MT KM2 X 5 with rims.

Yes, I drove that section of highway all the time. You were at map curve it looks like, about halfway between my parents house where I grew up and my first real job I worked at for 5 years.

As for on-coming traffic and a HID retrofit, thats why these are the best. Not to mention DOT legal as your using all DOT OEM equipment. The projector retrofit has a Cut-Off so that very little light goes into on-coming traffic. It is literally a line; tons of light below, very little above. Just enough light to make the signs light up like Christmas, but not enough to even bother traffic. Message me and I can send you pictures at night with my lights.

NICE bumper. Where, and how much $$$ are we talking? It'd look great on my W350 if it ends up being the one I keep. I have a grille guard to go on it, but your bumper is a serious step up from that.

Thanks Daniel,

I can't weld so I took pics of a few nice bumpers, drew my own interpretation and gave it all to a friend who welds and let him tweak it. It ended up around 1400 unfinished  but I was able to barter half of it so no complaints, especially after the deer.
