Atty. Called me back today... my truck and 7700. 00 and I drive of with a brand new 08 exactly like my lemon except hopefully it will not be a lemon ... . my truck has approx. 26k on it ... . they are deducting for the mileage but only from 15k, that is the mileage at which I filed lemon law . I think this is probably fair enough. What do you guys think??????

Consider the New Discounts on 08's

I'm not sure how much you paid on your original purchase, but in this morning's newspaper the local Dodge dealer was advertising to take off 40%

from MSRP on any Dodge truck in dealer stock. That being the case, I would

be paying approx. $31,000 for a loaded Mega Laramie instead of the $42,000 that I paid in Oct. 2007 for my 08 Mega 4X4..... Just a thought.

It is probably hard to compare the offer you received with an offer made to another owner. I would expect that the deal Chrysler offered you is influenced by the lemon laws of your state and may not be identical to a buyback offer made in another state with a truck with identical miles on the odometer.

40% Off

Grasmo..... sorry but just got back on the forum. The dealer was Brennan Dodge located in Ruston, Louisiana (phone # is 318-251-9874). It was run in the Monroe News-Star on Sunday (July 20). Please note that it said TRUCKS IN STOCK... ... . Hope this helps.

Went to get new truck today and asked salesman if I could drive it around for 30 min. or so to see if the cel would come on... . and guess what... . it was already on and the truck ran goofy. I will go back on monday and see if they have another one similar that runs right. Also I cannot reveal my source but I spoke with a former dodge service mgr. today and he told me that ALL 6. 7 trucks will eventually have emissions trouble ,excluding c&c models. The o8's seem to be a little better because they turned the fuel down. He also said the egr is the heart of almost all of the problems that are soot related. I am considering keeping mine and spending the money on egr & dpf deletes w/ programmer/s ... ... 7700. 00 will buy a lot of performance . I am very unsure at this point.

Chrysler will undoubtedly eventually get it all figured out - IF they can stay in business long enough!

Impending electronics and emissions complications in 3rd generation trucks was the main reason I bought the last of the 2nd generation trucks - yeah, LP and VP-44 issues came with it, but in spite of those, I still prefer what I have, and wouldn't "trade up".

$7700 *will* buy lots of upgrades - and often, the known problems you HAVE are easier dealt with that the unknown ones around the corner... ;):-laf

Just keep all of your emissions crap, so when you get caught, it will be cheaper to restore it back to the original configuration. The biggest issue I see with the DPF delete will be all of the States catching up with this in the future. The other issue will be trying to get it back to factory set points. A good example of this would be Harley Davidson shops, have you ever tried to get a HD shop to work on ******* bikes? Grasmo, maybe you should concider getting a C&C which are for the most part trouble free.
