Would appreciate your thoughts and comments

Anyone know anything about PJ trailers? I see a dealer seems to have a fair price compared to a Walton But I don't know which has the better quality. I want a good trailer at a fair price I don't want to waste my money on a cheap trailer. As I always end up taking it to the max weight wise and don't need a weak built trailer. Anyone one with a 9900 trailer who has hauled more weight like 11000 lbs slow and easy and not had any problems?

my neighbor has a pj dump trailer. It really impressed me used it multiple times and it is a well built trailer. his was a 7 ton and i wieghed out of the scales at the gravel pit at 27500 and that was with my 97 dodge 2500 360 v8 trailer handled it fine however the truck was a different story :) when it dumped barly even knew the gravel was there. I woudnt hesitate to buy a PJ one bit. If I had found a pj gooseneck before I found my Maineline I would have picked it up.

I have no personal experience with this trailer, but I would check this one out.

Econoline Trailers - Viewing 7 Ton Deck Over Multi-Purpose Tilt (16,100# GVWR) Technical Specifications

Yes that econoline is a nice trailer But a bit heavy for my truck as if I want to not exceed my trucks GVW of 9900 it would be impossibe to place 10% of the trailer weight on my hitch as I already weigh in at 9100# I can loose around 500 # by running with my in bed fuel tank with only 10 gals of fuel in it. I am reviewing data to try to keep it legal. If I can find a trailer with its weight under 4000 # I would think I would be better off. I did get a quote on that econoline for $6100. 00 which is a Great price I think. I think I will call them back and price out a trailer that weight between 3500 to 4000#. In the mean time I am gathering information I only want to haul a few tractors for myself farm tractors But I do have a JD 350C that weights 10600 and would sure like to be able to transport it if I wanted to.

Glen, yes the Econoline seems the best setup for me I haven't seen one close up but appear to be real equipt trailers. Though in todays economy I hate to spend 6k for a NEW trailer. I will call the dealer I was talking to and get some new quotes. As I recall a whether its a mini max 7 ton or a 6 or 5 ton the price will only be a few hundred dollars difference
I will check the web sites tonite

Looks like the way to go if I buy a New trailer is to buy a 14K trailer and have it derated by manufacturer to 10K though if I did get pulled over I could get nailed for being over weight if I was over 10K. I understand that once trailer is derated you can't get it rated back up to its original rating. Econoline will not derate their trailers Dealer has another manufacturer that will I would guess that in the future derating my be impossible to do.
