2003 Auto P700 code

Trans strains to move truck when in drive, but moves right away when pulling lever into 1st. Code shows P700. Truck has 157K miles and has been serviced twice since I got it at 90K. Am running Hypertech Stage 2 since I use 100% WVO, gives slightly better mileage than stock. Any ideas and especially where to take it. the dealer here in Greenville does not inspire confidence... .

In case you don't already know, P0700 is the code indicating there's a problem with the transmission. You have to query the PCM to find out what it is, and as far as I know the only way to do that is with a DRB-III or Starscan (dealer tools).

Ryan is correct... . View some of my recent posts and you will see that I have been dealing with a P0700 & P0122, both of which started after I have my new built transmission installed. P0700 is a general code pulled from the ECM..... However, the P0700 is related to the trans which can be numerous things. You will have to get the PCM scanned at a dealership to see what codes are causing the generic P0700. If you have any questions, please feel free to send me a PM. Ryan, along with a few VERY helpful members have helped me narrow down my issues. In fact I have my truck being fixed as I type this.

And then all day today (and last night) it worked fine, no shifteing problems. Still calling around for a good trans shop in Upstate SC... .
