What about the power train warranty?

Why is it not covered under the 7/70 powertrain warranty? Make them put it in writing that you did not perform adequate maintenance! Make them prove it! Unless they are acusing you of abusing the transmission it should be covered!

06 and 07's didn't have the 7/70K service agreement. I know cause I have an 06. I wanted the 05 because of that, but since they didn't have the MegaCab in 05 I had to get the 06. Kind of a shady deal. Seems like about anything left stock should be able to last 70K in the drivetrain. Scotty

If I wanted to beef up the transmission where would you start. No that I have no confidence in the transmission I have. I will start looking at upgrades. Any suggestions where to start?

Sell your truck and buy one with a 6-speed. That's what I did after going through three (yes I said 3) transmissions in my '97. The original was under warranty, the second one I had to pay for, the third was just barely under warranty (by 400 miles). Right after the fourth transmission went in, I sold the truck, with 152k and ordered my '03 with the 6-speed. -Trey

Yep gauges, you may be surprised how easy it is to hit 200* when backing or towing in stop & go traffic.
So true! You don't need to be towing or even loaded to hit sky high numbers. I was empty and just putt putting up a long steep hill in NY state and looked at the transmission gauge to see it was pegged at 280

First time towing was backing up into a driveway on a hill with about 8K and hit 250 in a heartbeat. Put it in park to let it cool off, not knowing at the time there is no fluid flow to the cooler in park

Dodge CTD... the truck that just keeps taking (maintenance dollars that is)

I totally agree, sold my 03 because I could not keep the transmission together after three rebuilds with upgrades. Just got tired of the weak link. The G56 with SB DD clutch is awesome!

It appears Trucks in Texas did not benefit from 7/70. Mine has 3/36 all trucks deliveried after July 07 have 100K power train warranty. Got mine 3/2007. Got screwed there should have waited.

Thanks for the info, with that in mind I may consider servicing mine even though it probably doesn't need it. That said, I would politely thank the dealer for the information and also share with him that you will not be interested in any future truck purchases from their dealership.
I am suppose to get a meeting with the District Representative for Dodge. I have been throwing such a fit that they have contacted the District Manager and he supposely agreed to meet with me. We will see. I have written a six page letter detailing everything I was told by service writer and what service manager told Chrysler warranty claims. Found out from Service manager friend in California that Dodge will good will quite a few repairs if your are having your truck serviced with them. Will wait to see what he has to say.

Wow, nobody told me that, and I bought mine in Sept/Oct of '07...

That said, I had a Goerend converter, valve body, input shaft, lever/strap anchor, BD billet flex plate and a Mag Hytek double deep pan installed when I had the first *trans service* done at 15k miles :-laf

I guess I don't have to worry about that warranty now...
