OK... we have a difference of opinion on the block. The local newspaper carried a story about a woman who lost a wheel off her car October 31.

She claims vandals removed her lug nuts and she drove about 40 miles before a front wheel came off the car. My friend says that's impossible and I say it is possible IF the wheels had not had regular rotation and were corroded/seized to the hubs. I saw a Goodyear tec pounding a pickup's stuck wheel with a large sledge hammer, ruining the rim I'm sure.

So whattayou think??? Fact or fiction??? Sorry; I don't know what kind of vehicle was in the news story.

I'm not sure if they would have made it down the road for miles, but the first time I had the wheels of my '07, it took a sledge, a block of wood, and lots of frustration.

I had to build a puller to get the original steel wheels off of my wifes jeep. I loosened up the lugs and drove it like a banshee to get em to break loose with no luck. Is it possible? Maybe. Did she have rims / tires someone was trying to steal and couldn't get em off possibly. was her car making thumping noises for weeks because they were loose and finally came off? thats another possibility
