Has anybody installed 80 HP or 100 HP injectors to a stock truck with no other mods. I may do this and I am looking for any input. Thanks

Why not do a Smarty jr instead? You can get 40, 70, 100hp plus you get the fuel timing capabilities that help in mileage.

I looked into this as well... a conversation with Joe Donelly (sp) suggested for my needs, an upgrade up to 70 HP injectors for long life and excellent results... .

I have too many different drivers of my trucks to consider a lot of HP and other engine mods. . we need 500K on a truck for it to pencil out... .

What I fear about the typical box that you'd add a higher rail pressure ... . which could lead to cracked lines and injectors... .

I am however looking at the Edge Mileage Max, which gives only 30 additional hp but with about 5% mileage improvement...

I am looking at that one too. I did one for a friend and found it only connects to the MAP and Rail Sensor. Not sure how they can alter timing with those connections.

100 hp is way too much for a stock truck. It will smoke like crazy and eat fuel. I know because even with my mods I smoke like crazy and before the twins I had lower MPG. Not to metion the stock fuel delivery can not keep up. I drop from 22k to 12k of pressure under hard acceleration because I drain the rail. I kind of wish I went with 60-75 sticks.

A local guy here installed 40hp F1's and is satisfied with the performance w/an aftermarket turbo(don't know which one). It's an '05 but it does smoke a little off idle with no load. I'm spooked w/the inevitable emissions coming up. Smarty's been solid so far.

I have 125 injectors on mine and I love them. I wouldn't have gone this big if i didn't have a airdog but with the stock pump i would think 70 would be good. the only other thing i would do is get a boost fooler witch is basicly what i'm using my mp-8 for right now except for when i want a little more punch. the driveablity is great I do see up close to 1500 egt sometimes but the mp-8 is still limiting my boost from what i can see compared to when i was running just a quadzilla boost fooler so the egts will be a little higher. but one good thing is that the occasional high egt helps clean out the carbon build up on the injectors witch keeps them happy

Doug, how are doing man?? Long time since I last saw you!! I hope all is well with you...

I had Timberline Dodge install KAX 80hp injectors in my stock 03 and it was a night a day difference in power. Fuel economy was not effected. However, be careful... it was like a drug for me and I fell down the slippery slope of mods. BUT... I have had a blast doing them myself and improving the truck.

Congrats on finally getting a real truck (vs that beautiful 8. 0 V10 gasser you had) :-laf

I bought this new in May 2004 from Dicks Country with the FTL discount. I will never go back to gas. Are you still at FTL, I could not get my wife to move to Oregon so I moved back up here in 4 years ago. I will PM you my e-mail
