Guns, Bows, Shooting Sports, and Hunting what bow for a youth?

I have a RRA 16inch carbine, pentagon light with tape switch very nice gun, shoots and carries well. Have a Gear Sector G2PS sling on it. Carry this gun at work for my patrol rifle.

Check out websites like: ar15.com and M4carbine.net and you will have more reading on AR's than you could ever want.

We also have M&P15's for our department patrol rifles (if you dont have a personal one) and those too are very nice.

Just depends on what you want. IMO, lite is mite - I don't want a heavy weapon, especially when recoil is not an issue. My AR is 7#, 1oz with the light, 6#, 14oz without. Built one for me, and a matching one for dad, years ago.

I'm sure glad I'm... not in need... of an EBR (Evil Black Rifle) right now.

Also, it's good to know that there are so many of "us" out there to keep watch over the "powers that be" and the country and each other!

Thanks for everyone's input. I purchased a SW MP 15 today. Hopefully this will be a decent platform for my first one and we'll go from there. Have to start accessorizing now.

Thanks again, Paul

Welcome to the dark side, LOL.

You should like it. My buddy has one and our department has them for our patrol rifles (if you dont carry a personal one). Nice shooters, I like the balance of them and the way they shoulder very easy.

Enjoy it, they are very fun and easy to shoot (AR's in general).

Just remember to always keep it clean and lightly oiled. When you put the bolt back in make sure the rings are all ofset

Don't for get to clean the gas chamber with pipe cleaners.

I've never cleaned my gas tube on any of my AR's. If it works for you, by all means clean it.
The gas system is of a "self cleaning" design.
If it really bothers you, put a new one on every couple of years.
JM. 02 YMMV etc.

The gas chamber is the part of the bolt carrier not the gas tube itself. The gas tube never clogged with all my years of shootin it but do run a pipe cleaner thru the bolt... Civilians:rolleyes:

Just messin with ya Patriot:-laf

Yea, youre right. Clean the BCG. (and the ring alignment like you mentioned) But I'd bet more problems are made than fixed by broken pipe cleaners in the gas tube. :-laf

Just my opinion among many but I think the Noveske N6 12. 5" Leonidas 7. 62mm Rifle would be your best overall alround application choice weapon.

Noveske Rifleworks, LLC. Precision Battle Weapons.

Excellent power factor, penetration, and knock down power as well as a SHTF weapon capable of taking pretty much any wild game in a survival situation. This weapon can also fire 7. 62 NATO SLAP ammo which can come in VERY handy with thugs wearing body armor or using armored vehicles.

My follow up choice would be the Noveske N4 Light 5. 56 NATO Rifle which is fully interchangable and compatible with the Colt M4 and as good as or better weapon.

These two firearms in your gun safe pretty much cover any need with the exception of an "small" Christmas "stocking stuffer".

UltraMag 50

I like the 29 inch barrel version which gets the most efficient use of the powder. Two big advantages to this setup are that it requires no paperwork to purchase, and is not on record as a large caliber weapon, since it is bought strictly as "replacement parts. " This combo makes it real neigborly to reach out and touch someone. :D

Last is the tired and true M1 Garand. Truly an amazing weapon for it age and it is STILL a fine and capable firearm. I think 8 round clips carried in bandoleers are FAR more capable than bulky and expensive ammo clips.
