Ok my one year new truck Sirius Satellite Radio subscription has expired and its time to renew but I like some of the XM stations. When I called and asked if I could get the "Best of XM" on my stock radio they said it wont play the "Best of XM"? Their suggestion was to pick out one of their add on radios that does play "Best of XM" and play it through my FM... not really what I wanted to do. Anyone else experienced this? Will the stock 'RAQ' radio not go high enough in channel numbers or what?

I already have a subscription to 'XM' for a portable radio but would prefer to stick with either Sirius or XM and not both.

I also had xm already. so when Sirius expired I got a car adapter kit , and put it in the truck. You can use the antena already on the roof, you need an adapter for it , You only need to remove the kick panel on the pasenger side, and drop the glove box, to get to everything you need. I then use my xm in the truck, car, house, and trailer. Good Luck Dan

I dont think their is a difference any more between the two I have Xm and have just noticed recently picking up 10times the channels I used to have and it is no extra charge. So it might just be a sales gimick

I would not use the FM option, I tried it for a couple years, too many stations cut in and it just a pain. My truck has a cassette player and there is an adapter that connects to the radio receiver, works great. Think the better deal is to what was suggested on an earlier reply, connect thru the truck annenta. I have heard that there be problems with approach too. There are just too many options. Hope this is some help.

That's nonsense. The telemarketer you spoke with is uninformed.

A couple weeks ago I received an email message from Sirius informing me a new list of XM channels was available. I called Sirius and had them added to my one year free Sirius subscription at no charge. I receive the desired XM channel over my Sirius radio just like the rest of the Sirius channels.

Call Sirius again.

Thanks... I will try again and see what happens.

I received a similar note from XM stating that the Sirius channels where now available at no charge, but the "best of sirius" (NFL games, Howard Stern, NASCAR, etc... ) was at an additional charge. Definitely check online for the new channel listings, as some have change, or been deleted, but you should get both (since the merger) from either a stock XM or Sirius receiver. IIRC XM said the change started on 11/12/08 or there about.

Sirius & 'Best of XM'

I haven't had time to call Sirius again yet. So that I am totally clear on this you guys with the factory Sirius Satellite equipped radios are receiving "The Best of XM" up through channels 210 to 220? What year(s) are your trucks?

Speaking only for myself, I only added one XM channel to my Sirius subscription. It was all I wanted. I looked over the "Best of XM" list and, IIRC, it was primarily stations I didn't care about including sports channels and Oprah.

My truck is an '08 but it has the identical factory radio as my '06 which was "RBK" Dodge order code, I think. Both have six disc changer, artist and title display, premium sound, bluetooth, but not navigation.

Harvey, What? you didnt want Oprah?

Aaaaah, has anyone tried chan 99 on Sirius, it may be the same on XM, just make sure you dont have the Old Lady or Kids in the Rig if you do stumble upon it accidentaly...

Congrats On the Satellite radio monopoly! The only two stations I had my XM for 42 liquid metal and 110 classical station for the boy got cut in the merger. So now where do I turn? I guess I picked the looser. Now I have had XM for three years in the truck wife's car, bought the boom box, home kit which made it a sizable investment for me over time. Not too many listening options in western Kansas and now two less!

They restructured a lot of channels about two weeks ago, merging many, adding some, etc. So, XM got some Sirius, Sirius got some XM, and some got eliminated as duplicate in the shakeup. But, the "Best of XM" is an extra cost option and includes, as previously mentioned, mostly talk radio.
