i dont know if anyone else does this but i put all my fuel and maintenece in a little book. well one night i got bored and i put it on a spread sheet. i thought maybe you guys would like to look at it for an example or maybe for an idea of what your truck costs you.

tboneman the truck is a 2500 with 4. 10's no i dont tow much. in fact the only month i towed was sept. and you can see that reflected in the chart. it does seem to get lower milage then average the best ive ever gotten was 19mpg. however what your seeing here is the monthly averages so say you fill up 4 or 5 times a month one tank is 15 one is 17 and so on the average for the month is what your seeing here.

Ahhh 4:10's with the 5 speed.

My '01 with 3:54's and 6 speed has a life time average (190,000 miles) of 17. 6 mpg. I've had annual averages of 18. 5 mpg for the last 3 years.

I'm stock accept for 4" exhaust (with free flow muffler and resonator).

Life time single tank high was 23 mpg and low was 10. 2 (towing 8000# down I75 on the west coast of Florida, 102 deg F, 80-85 mph to keep up with traffic).

The scary thing about maintaining records like this is you see all the money and fuel you've used. I'm over 11,800 gallons for fuel that I paid nearly $22,500 for.

Personally, I like the way you have done this. Gives one a good idea, as to what the real costs of owning a vehicle is. GREAT JOB!:)

thanks amsoilman that was the reason i posted this was an idea for some and an idea of what the trucks really cost. i do it out of enjoyment i like being able to look back and track everything.

all we need now is some one who has done this for a simalar truck with a gas engine and compare the 2

well if you have the records tboneman it would be interesting to look at but no what im really curious about is a similar truck. the charger probably can get better milage when your not hammering it
