Which of the transmission lines for an automatic is the line to drain when you are doing a total fluid replacement? If anybody's got a pic that would be great. Also, I'm not worried about the rear band adjustment, but can the front band be adjusted without dropping the transmission pan? It looks like according to the research i've done on TDR it can be adjusted without removing the pan, but i just want to be sure. If so, I'll just do my fluid replacement and also replace the transmission filter and then just take it to the dealership and let them adjust the front band. Thanks in advance for replies.

The cooler line at the rear of the trans is the return line. Takeit loose and route it into a container to empty the TC on a fluid change.

The front band can be adjusted without dropping the pine. The adjust ment screw is on the outside of the front part of the trans close to the front cooler line. Rear band adjustment requires dropping the pan.

Thanks cerberusiam, I appreciate your help. This is my first time to service my transmission by myself. I am assuming you are talking about the line at the rear of the transmission on the driver's side right? If I remember correctly there is also a line at the rear of the transmission on the passenger side. Just want to be sure I am getting the right one.

Yes, the drivers side. Both cooler lines are on the driver side of the trans. Not sure what you are seeing on the other.

Thanks again. I almost forgot to ask, how much do i torque down the bolts on the transmission pan? I think also from what i've read on here there are also two bolts to change out the transmission filter, is there a torque setting for them as well? I appreciate you guys, without ya'lls input there's no way i'd feel comfortable doing this myself!

Truthfully, I don't even know. I have done i so many times I just snug them to where they hold.

There are 2 torx screws that hold the filter. Once again, no TQ just snug them good for me.
