New Dodge/Chrysler updates

Apparently Dodge/Chrysler has some new updates for the Dodge Cummins Ram years 06 & 07.

Does anyone know what they are??

O. K. finally received the lasted addition of the TDR. Appearently the new updates came out after the magazine was published, didn't see any new ones.

This is in reference to the new smarty updates that came out 11/14/2008. I want to know what the new dodge software is for so I can decide if I want to update my smarty to the 11/14 software. I'am not referencing the smarty adjustable software, I already know about that too.

I know some guys smartys were locked out after they had there trucks in for service at the dealership that's why Marco came out with the new 11/14 smarty software. I need to know what the dodge software updates are so I can decide if I want to update for myself.

Yes they will, even if you tell them not to.

I have heard of guys/gals drilling small holes in the end of their OBD and using a padlock to keep them from installing new updates.

well i had mine installed for popped codes and check gauges light when my volts went down to 11 volts. TSB fit the gripe exactly. Reflash fixed it, but then had a similiar problem later the next week with teh volts but it turned out to be my battery cable. Its possible that the electrical problem i got mine reflashed for is the only reason for the update. Could be more, i don't know.

I would have thought someone from smarty or a chrysler tech would have answered but guess no one really cares except for the 759 people who have viewed this thread. Really disappointing we can not get some real answers.

who knows why they release half the stuff they do. I hate the fact I had to have my truck relflashed because the alt wasn't charging. I miss the old days... ... . sometimes.

For warranty reasons my dad wants the dealership to flash his truck before he updates his smarty, so the underhood sticker matches the ECM.

like i said before it is for a charging system issue. I brought my truck in for a problem that exactly matched the tsb and they flashed it with the new update.

I was just hoping someone found a TSB or something. .



My charging system was modified on a much older flash, but mine is an 05.

Called my local dealership yesterday, they see no new TSB's for ECM flashes since the white smoke TSB... doesn't mean thats the pure case, but they searched for quite a while.

There are different flashes for different year ECMs. The Smarty contains all the current flashes I believe for all years 03-07 for 5. 9Ls Cummins. I believe that Bob stated the lasted softwares in the new release were for 06-07 trucks.

A couple years ago my ECM became corrupted. In my quest to replace or have it purged and get it completely re-programed a call to my local dealer's parts dept provided information that showed at the time that there were almost a different download by DCX for every month of the year so if you have like myself an 04. 5 then there is NOT just one ECM program but over a dozen or more for the 04. 5 thru 05!!!



DCX is not making all this very easy for sure.



This is something to consider when a member with a given year claims that certain settings work for him and another with the same year says, "no way"! Apparently you would have to have year, model and month of production for things to be the same between two trucks.
