There was a post a while back (TDR/irv2.net/rv.net) about re-stringing with 30# braided fishing line. If you do a search there is a lot of information out there
Same boat here, seems that the strings begin to fray with continued use. I have, I think 3 like this. Guess I will start looking for a fix like that suggested.
Just had one restrung on my 04 Alpenlite. The funny thing it was the least used shade in the bedroom. A local rv place gave me the name of a gal who replaces the cord and adds grommets to shield the cords from shredding in the future. I guess the shade mfgs save a few penneys leaving them out. You might try an rv outfit and see who they have repair their shades. Oh btw cost me $40.
We replaced all the shades in our trailer with mini-blinds, bought a couple each week, custom cut at Home Depot. We then shortened then to fit each window. Havent had a problem since. The day/night shades were a pain!

Yep..... We are doing the same thing with some alabaster colored Faux wood blinds in our unit. I am fed up with the day/night crap. It is too much work to open them and they need constant repair. I have replaced the string and end caps at least 6 times over the years. Having them cleaned is not cheap either. I could have bought real blinds 3 times over for the cost of repair and cleaning of the day/nights.
Also, if you have an allergy problems, "real blinds" are a much better choice. You would be surprised at how nasty the day/nights get. They may look clean... They are not.
