Ok TDR members i need some help!! Hope its not too confusing but here it is...
My buddy is have some seriouse fueling issues. He has a 98. 5 24v he recently had the vp44 hot rod installed, he has Rv275 injectors, fass 150, edge comp box, hx35 hybrid... After about 6 months with trouble free problems one day last week he got a couple codes p0236 p0500 p1693 p0122. which the p0236 is the map sensor too high too long. so he went to cummins and got a new sensor and replaced it. Now the problem we are having, that there is no Smoke!!!!! Now before we replaced the map sensor the truck would smoke, but he has been having low boost issues (24psi on a hx35 hybrid) compared to 30psi when we installed the new turbo... Now with the comp box on or off and the new sensor in he is not getting even a slight haze, doesnt make any sense... For some crazy reason we unplugged the wire harness goin to the map sensor and the thing smokes like it used too but with no performace increase (still only getting 24psi)... Now why would the map sensor make such a big difference??? Performace is the same with the sensor plugged in or unplugged but when its plugged in it doesnt smoke which means its not getting the low end fuel that it needs, right??... Does anyone have any answers or suggestions??? Any help would be greatly appreciated... . Thanks Shawn
