I've got a friend living on borrowed time. From day one with his '05 he's had a Juice w/o attitude set on 60 hp w/285's. About a year ago,he mounted a 1000# Callen half-cabover shell on the truck and installed Smarty sw#3. Simultaneously, the 35's went on. Any minute now... . :) I'm trying to lean him toward a DTT or Goerend, but he's got a guy in O'Side that says he'll build him a transmission that'll hold 450 rwhp for $2200:rolleyes: Oh well.

Can you get the name of the Trans builder in O'side ? I am 14 mi inland from there. There is one good shop I have heard about will find out the name.

$2200 transmission?

Yeah,I'll get it for you. I'm having a hard time believing he can do the job for that. The shop claims no problema and guarantees its work. I'll get back to you.

Walt-Bilt Transmissions. That can't include labor. I'll see him today. 760-722-7007

I installed an Edge Juice when I bought my truck new. Now have 95k on it and have not had any problem. I tow a 11k boat and trailer during the summer. I agree that the rule of thumb is if you do not increase your hp over 100 above stock you probably will not damage your trans or turbo. I always run the Edge on #1 and rarely use #2 or #3. If you drive NORMALLY and don't race away from every stop light and try to smoke your tires you should be fine. If you wanna race or hot rod your truck then I agree you need to spend your money on a trans first. I also agree that your first purchase should be gauges no matter what else you do---even if you leave your truck stock.

I have a stock 2004. 5 (sig below) and I'm looking for some extra HP. I don't tow and the truck will be completely stock except for the programmer...

I'm under the impression I can use a programmer with my stock setup and not affect the warranty? Please confirm this.

Can those of you with the edge, Smarty, and Smarty Jr. please share your experiences with them? Power gains with stock trans? Smoke levels?

Remember, I definitely don't want to roast my stock transmission so let me know what power levels can I SAFELY run on each programmer.

Thanks!

Jake

Hahaha no you can't! That's hilarious though!

I like my Edge Juice with Attitude. 5 power levels (6 with hot unlock) adjustable on the fly, and a ton of gauges built in. Also, a lot of user programmable safety backdowns to keep you from killing your transmission. Unlike the Smarty, which will let you destroy yor truck without thinking twice about it.
