im seeing the same issue with my 08 6. 7 oil levels on stick are climbing oil sample said viscosity is low at 7,000 original miles.

fs 2500 oil bypass filter is installed also

Unfortunately the bypass filter won't pull the fuel out of the oil, which is what would be causing the low viscosity and rise on the dipstick

I should probably do an update here. With the EGR, DPF, NOx etc. deletes done (have been running the truck like this for a while now) and the truck has been running flawlessly, just like my old 12Valver. No more rising oil problems, no more regens are happening, and no more sooted up turbo problems, no more O2 sensor problems. If the emissions natzis get to be too tough out here I'll either move more north or fight it in court before putting all that crap back on. I was really excited about the clean truck idea when I first bought the truck, but the unfortunate reality is that one ounce of cleaner air was costing me a pound of flesh.

Well said! I suspect that you will notice much cleaner oil on the dip stick now too. As far as the natzi's go, They really don't care. I had a customer that owns a wind farm here in CA. He drives his truck out to do repairs and maint on the windmills and would find burnt grass in his driveway when he got home. we did the deletes to prevent starting another Calif wildfire that would cause millions of $$ of damage. The EPA said they didn't care how many fires he started, they would not give him any exemption. NICE!!#@$%!#@$%!

Now i have code 2262 turbo pressure to deal with now and im not wanting to mess with my warranty yet with all these issues

i do understand that the excess backpressure is stopping up the exhaust/turbo i have removed the muffler and run magnaflow duals out the back so far

Exhaust brake is On all the Time ,still sooted up

Typical incompitent dealer that doesn't know what they're talking about!! The engine is different!! Wow theres a solution. I didn't have time to read the whole thread, but I had an extra 3 litres once!!

I deleted the egr and dpf 10,000 miles ago. No more increasing oil or 2262 codes. The regen sprays raw fuel down the exhaust to burn out the soot that clogs the dpf. During this time, some fuel gets by the rings into the crank case, diluting the oil. Get rid of the dpf and problem solved!

Garry

Gary you may do that in BC - here many places are having emission tests, and while most don't require anything for the 1st 5 years of ownership, at some point you run the risk of grtting caught and that will make an inspector's day! And the fines are huge not minor... .
