Not my truck, a friend who works at the same place I do broke a valve spring on the #4 cylinder and pretty much wiped out the engine. The only thing he had done to the truck to that point was replace the transmission once at 285k miles and replaced most of the u-joints plus the front wheel bearings. These trucks will last a long time. There was no warning and no way he could have known the spring was about to break.
He is now driving a new Cab and Chassis. He will be happy with that one. He got 15. 4 mpg on his first tank of fuel. It will get better as he gets it broken in.
