I wonder if your grid heater has a problem which may account for the flashing "wait to start" and no start on a cold day... unless the truck was already warmed up previously.

Where are you at ?. These trucks will fire at 40f no problem

Use a code scanner to check for DTC's (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) or cycle the ignition key ON-OFF-ON-OFF-ON (without activating the starter) and watch the odometer widow for DTC's. Report back here what you found and we'll try to help.
