Hey guys, lookin for some useful links to a good aftermarket, easy to install air horn. preferably the louder the better. train horn?? the stock one finally gave it up yesterday after a trip to the car wash. any ideas/personal experiences are greatly appreciated. all these FISHTABS up here in Wisconsin need a reminder to mind their own lane!#@$%!

I have firestone airbags with the onboard compressor and tank. I just ordered an air horn off a Rowgator sprayer and got the solenoid valve from them too. Just wired the solenoid up to my existing horn wires. It works fine. It even blasts when you lock the doors. I think I might have 100 bucks in it. Hadley sells horn kits, but they are expensive.

Well if you want a quick, easy and cheap sorta air horn then you can get this kit and install very easy. I added them to mine and really like the sound. Not train horn loud, but louder than stock. Does get attention better and not loud enough to get in real trouble.

eBay

Take a look at Siege Engineering on Ebay. I bought a system from them and have been very happy with it.

I was only interested in a compressed air system at a resonable price and the horns were a bonus to me.

However, as JVolpe noted, these can get you into trouble if you are not careful. :D

I have two truck horns, one used from a scrap yard, one new from an International dealer. I like them. Not train horn loud but still loud. Under my driver side door along frame rail, pointed backwards on custom made bracket.

I have the Siege Engineering Hammer 3 Train Horns. They are VERY LOUD. You CAN NOT use them as a replacement for stock horns as they are way TOO LOUD for that.

Thanks guys, guess I'll start the research phase now that have some ideas, don't need any more attention, so maybe train horns are a wee bit too loud, am leaning towards the one JVOLPE put the link in for.

I had a set of Grovers on my 01. I put in a relay switch so that I could operate my stock horns and then with the flick of a switch, my stock and airhors would blow when I pressed the horn button on my steering wheel. The nice thing was that the air horns would not "chirp" and scare the beejeesus out of you when you activated your alarm!

I love my airhorns, worth the money. These are Nathan K3s, picture taken before mount went to powder coat.

LOOKS LIKE A NICE INSTALL!!!!!!!

Have you had any problems with the heat of the exhaust???

I have the same horns to put on my truck, did you have to remove the bed to do that??
