Honda Eu 2000i oil How much?

I just got my brand new generator, there is no oil in it. Manual says to fill until proper level on dipstick. My question is how much is that? I do not want to spill oil all over the place. Is it one quart, half a quart, two quarts, or 3 gallons like the truck?:-laf



Also Honda dealership only had 10-40 oil. Manual calls for 10-30, will it make any difference if I use 10-40?

This is not true. When we put oil in our Honda at work, we forgot to put the dipstick back in before we started it. That oil came out alot faster then it went in.

icman, thank you. I was also looking at the Yamaha EF2400 but it cost 1240. 00 dollars compared to 885. 00. Both are 16 amps. I think both Yamaha and Honda are great generators. I have a friend with the Honda 3k it is a nice unit, and very quite.

My generator came with a bottle the exact sizes needed. And then I saved the bottle, but of course I am having trouble to find it today. Anyway mined called for straight 30 weight. Atfer breaking it in a switched to Mobil 1.

I need to get an hour meter. How many hours before you went to Mobil 1? Mobil 1 10-30 is what I use in my cars, that is what I will end up using after break in.

i got a hour meter and used crimp connectors, twisted one so it would plug right into the 12v outlet. held in with the power of a bungy-cord.

i'm also using mobil 1.

if you want to make it quieter, extend the exhaust outlet a inch and attach a removable flex exhaust hose to a pail of water placed lower than the gen. a very quiet outboard... .

also get the replacement fuel cap, remove the vent, and install a hose fitting. hook the hose to a boat or other type of fuel tank, the stock tank will draw from the hose as the tank empties untill it starts using from the large tank. this will give you several days worth of fuel without stopping the motor. this works great on house boats and toyhauler r. v's. not recomended for campgrounds... . also will work if you have a power outage at home. keeps the kids busy watching t. v.

A couple of great ideas. I have 2 of the eu2000s with the patch cord so i can run 4000 watts. Love those little thinks. My 6500watt honda never sees use anymore.

I have had a eu2000 for 5 years & love it. To fill the oil I used a squeeze bottle that had mustard in it previously. It makes it easy to fill without spilling.

I average 12 hours on a tank of fuel, so I just guessed three tanks was a good breakin and changed the oil. Check the manual I think it says change the oil every 50 hours. But it take me a long time to build up 50 hours so it gets change more often than that.

I change oil on all my equipment once a year if it has not reached the hours for the oil change
