Hey All,

I have attempted to search for my particular symptoms, but have had no luck.

For about the last year my truck has started some odd shifting characteristics. Within the first few minutes of driving the up shifting and down shifting is fine. Example: 1st to second 1800-2000rpm, 2nd to 3rd close to the same. Normally after a few miles (operating temp doesn't seem to matter, happens hot or cold) the transmission starts its odd shifting. Starting in 1st with light throttle the truck will not shift to second until 2500rpm. The same goes with 2nd to 3rd. I can hold the rpm at 2400rpm and it will not shift. I can get it to shift before 2500rpm but I have to stab the throttle. The funny thing is that I can get the shifting back to normal if I click the OD button. The only difference is that I don't have 4th. Another thing that starts to happen is on deceleration. Almost like clockwork when I decelerate and hit 35mph I get a firm (Light jerking) downshift. When the truck is shifting fine you can't feel the downshift. Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks

That sounds exactly like what my transmission was doing so the pan was pulled and found lots of clutch material in the bottom probably not wha you wanted to hear but thats what i would check first. By the way my truck is a 2006 with the 48RE

It sounds as if the solonoids are not working properly. If you get metal in the pan when the solonoids turn on it attracts metal and restricts the fluid flow.
