Was at the dealership getting service yesterday and they offered to trade me a '06 with an auto 5. 9L QC 4 X 2, 25,500 miles for my 07. 5 (now at 11,500 miles). It's a nice truck and has a few options mine doesn't but its a 4 X 2. Drives very nice.

I've given it some thought.

How often do you need your 4 wheel drive?

Right now very rarely.

May be a more viable option than the F150 you were thinking of a few weeks ago. I don't think it should be an even trade however. I know at least here locally, late model 5. 9's are selling at or near newer 6. 7's, but it's double the miles and not 4x4.

I occasionally have buyers remorse, could have gone 5. 9 or 6. 7 at time of purchase, but then I get a ride with my B-I-L in his 5. 9, and I remember I really liked the 6 spd auto and the EB. The fuel mileage is slowly getting better, as I get more miles, just clicked over 11,200.

The local dealer had both motors in 2500 SRW, but wouldn't budge from $47,000. One town south and saved 7000, plus got my 3500 SRW.

I'll stick with my truck. The dealer wanted to trade even up, for a year older truck and a 4 x 2. The big draw? The 5. 9 and an automatic... and the sheer simplicity of that motor under the hood. I love the simplicity of the 5. 9.

But I also love the quieter engine, the EB, and the fact that my truck is 18 months newer, and has half the miles. Given that it's paid for now, I think I'll just keep what I got.

I was just curious what you guys thought.
