OK. Now that everyone is checking this post out and typing "enzyte" at the same time, the 'old girl' is my '96 Ram and the horn barely works.

I checked the relay, swapped it with a known good one and got no change.

The horn barely moans, then changes pitch, and kinda warbles, but stays way too quiet. Is it shot or is there something else I should check?

Have you checked the ground wires? They are prone to corrosion.

I have a set out of an 85 Caddy on mine (besides the air horns), so if you want some stockers let me know. I think I can find them:-laf

Thanks guys! I'll try running a couple of jumper wires to the horn.

How loud is that Harbor Freight air horn? Kinda cool that you don't need a separate compressor or air tank.

Given where Dodge mounts the horn and the snowplowing and salted roads my truck puts up with, I'll bet you're right about either the wires or the plates inside being corroded.

Some of the ones made by FIAMM, an Italian compmany are 120 dB. They are excellent for motorcycles, and sure as h*ll would'nt hurt in our trucks. In fact, Harbor Freight USED to sell em for like $14. 95, but they don't seem to stock them anymore. The Wolos which they do have are supposed to be good horns too. The stock horn on my 2005 is almost pathetic. One of my projects which I have parts for, just not time yet, is to install an old 6volt horn with an 18" long trumpet that I got from a salvage yard for $15. 00. I don't know what it is off of, but at 12 volts, it is LOUD. I'll runit off a separate relay and button so I don't fry the electronics of my stocker, OR blow peoples ears out when I use my key fob:-laf:-laf

I had quite a few electric horns go bad.

ps I currently run 2 hadley bully AIR horns behind my front bumper, supplied by 3 gal tank of air running at 135 psi from the on board pump.

I beileve horns are a safety device, so louder the better...
