crankshaft compatability

Any one know if a `96 12v crankshaft will fit a `06 24v engine??

Don't the HPCR engines have a tone wheel on the crank for the ECM? On the 24V it was around the 3rd or 4th cylinder throw but I think they changed location on the HPCR.

on the `99 24v we have there`s a sensor between the #4 & #5 cyls. the `06 seems to have the tone wheel on the back side of the front crank pulley. I can`t see any tone wheel inside the block, on the crankshaft. I don`t have the truck on a hoist, just looking under it laying on my back. :-laf with the pan off.
