Fuel sytem service $159 buck???

Dealer says time for a fuel system flush / service. What?? Don't you just replace the fuel filter every couple of years?



Ok experts, what the recomended service interval for this service.

assume the position for a hosing. filter change is by milage about 11000/or if bad fuel . P. S How do you spell rip off in dealer speek

Filter change interval is 10000 miles. Never go longer than that.



Do not buy a "fuel system flush/service" for this engine. There is no such thing for the Cummins engine.



What did they tell you they were going to do?

The Dodge Dealer (Five Star), said that every year or 12,000 mile I should have a fuel system flush/ cleaning service performed.

This is for my 2005 3500 4X4 that I purchased new May of 2005, so I know I have had the fuel filter replaced a couple of times, truck has 36,412 miles on it after 4 years but I know I have never had a "Fuel system Flush/ service".

How much do you guys pay for just a fuel filter replacement?

About $12. Most of us do it ourselves - it's very easy. Here's a thread that discusses it.



There's no "flush" for this engine, no matter what the dealer tells you. The only "service" is changing the fuel filter. What is the dealer claiming he's going to do?

I don't care how many stars these guys claim... ... . you need to find an honest dealer. Are you sure they know your engine is a diesel?? As asked above, I'm also really curious as to what exactly they say this service entails.



You're in Rip's neighborhood. If you keep records, you don't void your warranty for a simple fuel filter change.

Well I'm going to replace the filter myself. Screw paying for that. Just need to find the part number or do you have a suggested filter??

PF 7977 Baldwin 5-micron



Don't know the Mopar PN.







I used to get my filters by the case from Genos. They are the 7-micron.



Now I use the Baldwin and get them from Baldwin.

Curious if there is a FLEETGUARD fuel filter application/part # for my 2003 305 H. O. ???? or are the Donaldson, Baldwin and MOPAR the only choices

Geno's carries 2 different fleetguard fuel filters for the 03-07 5. 9 trucks. Filters - Fuel-Dodge Cummins and Ford Power Stroke Diesel Truck Accessories - Geno's Garage
The FS19856 is a 7 micron and the FS19855 is a 10 micron.
