My apps has a dead spot in it. Cleaned it out with electrical contact cleaner and the dead spot would go away but once the engine warmed up more the dead spot would come back. Was wondering if I should change the appa and where can i get one for cheap

Depends what you call cheap... :-laf...

There's a cheaper, but in my opinion a better way to go if your gonna replace it...

I found out after the fact, but, there is a company that sells the APPS sensor for $175----Blue Chip Diesel ( bluechipdiesel.com).

I have a nearly new one off my 2002 that I am p-pumping I would sell ya for $100 shipped. Only about 5000 miles/1 year old... If interested -- email address removed --

I have a 2002 2500 4x4 took it to the dealer for an apps they told me $800 parts and labor. They said the cost is hi because it is mounted to an other part and you have to buy the whole thing. Are they taking me for a ride or what.

After looking at what else is available in the the above replies - I'd say the dealer is "trying" to take you for a ride. But, in all fairness to the Techs, they are only allowed to replace with the parts mother Dodge makes available to them.

Just get an aftermarket unit from Timbo, and call it a day. You will save enough for plenty of other repairs on your truck.

I know that Blue Chip diesel sells just the sensor for $175. I don't know about Timbo, but, I am willing to bet it's running about the same ( far less than the factory unit).
