Any one figure out how to pull the upper ball joints out with out dissassembling the whole steering knuckle? I had installed Moog uppers and lowers, I'm not happy with the adjustable#@$%! uppers and want to install a set of Calli's only I'm not really in the mood to tear down the whole thing again. So I ask has anyone tryed to do just he uppers???? Any thoughts:eek:... ...

I know how to do it without much effort. Launch your truck so that you bend the axle resulting in the ball joints being forced out.

Success every time.

Oh but wait now you have a bent axle so it don't matter any more, u still have to do the complete tear down. :-laf

Well, I'd like to be able to drive the truck again so the launch Idea... ... Not so good... What's this press you got off EBAY? have a pic you can post or a manafacture name and part number?

The truck is still drivable after bending the axles. After two fronts and one rear, I'd should know. Oo.

That tool is the same as the one I used from snapon to install the moog ball joints. You have to pull the whole front end apart, remove the hubs and the spindals outer axel half shafts. All I want to do is pop out the upper and pop in the Carli's with out a days labor to get to them... ... Any thoughts or is this a NO winner.....

Sorry but you're deamin' dude. The ball joints are a press fit, they don't just pop in and out.
