To go along with the learning to weld thread I figured I'd show off some of my handy work. I'm just a tinkerer and I am self taught at welding. I've worked in power plants since 1992 and have tried to learn as much as possible from the pipe welders and boiler makers I have met through the years. I had my Hobart on one of the little cheesy carts that you can see in the back of the first picture and decided to make a cart for both of my welders, gas bottles and tools for metal work.

Sorry for the crappy pictures, they are from my cell phone because my 2 year old broke the camera:mad:

Here is the 75% finished product.

A picture of the side cabinet I used for storage. It's a Harbor Frieght special, $179 and actually a darn nice box for the cost.

Very nice. It's a great felling to do it right yourself. :)

I like the slope mount for the Mig box. Showing your project here just might be the kick in the pants I need to do the same. Thanks for the heads up about the tool box at Harbor Freight, I'll have to check it out.

I like the "off road tires"! Did you make that from an old wagon, or completely from scratch?

Very nice work.

Completely from scratch even the steering which turned out pretty good. My thought is I can pull it out back and use it if needed and maybe even tow it behind the lawn tractor when I make a new hitch to connect it to the tractor. I've got two jobs going at once, my NV4500 and the cart so the cart is on hold now. :)

That is part of why it's only 75% done, I've only had the bottles on there while it's stationary, I've been searching around for some scrap pipe that is the diameter of the outside of the bottles to make some rings to hold them in place. I may have to break down and actually buy a little more steel to fabricate some bottle clamps. ;)
