Anyone use a tool like this. I made the tool after having issues timing the pump. When I would pop off the gear, the shaft would move..... pita. Now all I have to do is use the tool to adjust the lift and slip gear back on, tighten it and done.
Hey, great idea. I'm going to have to make one of those. The last two I timed I used some cardboard to protect the threads and then rotated the pump with channel locks. This made it so much faster and easier. The pump moving around every time the gear pops has had me annoyed so many times. Even when I pop it off and then put it back real gently it will still move many times. What did you use for the big nut? It looks thicker than an OE pump nut or maybe I have just forgotten. Is that a standard off the shelf thread? Thanks for sharing!
come on!! you are trying to help all of us out! 30. 00 is a bit much ,don`t you think, just list what it takes to make it and everyone that has a need for one can make them thereself. times are hard!!
Lol... . I posted the big pic to help anyone out who wants to make their own, and I explained it! What more do you want??? If you think I'm going to buy the parts and weld them up for nothing you are crazy!
No, have worked weekends so far. Don't think it will be soon, work and wife have me booked for at least six weeks. You did a nice job fabricating it, I'm sure it will work great.
I just used the one I made on a friends truck a couple weeks ago. I wasn't able to find quite the right thread pitch in town but it was enough to get it started and do the job. Again, thanks for the great idea!
