Just my experience with death wobble and some things about my truck.

First off my 1995 has 327K miles and almost every part in the front end is worn out. a few years ago I installed an aftermarket original style track bar and it actually had death wobble the next day.

My truck literally would death wobble every day on almost every bump in the road. Literally not driveable by anyone but myself because I was so used to loading the steering to stop it right as it started.

I finally bought an 03 track bar and Solid Steel bracket. I also bought a PSC steering box/gear brace. I finally got off the couch and took my truck to a friend and had him install the track bar, brakcet and brace. :-laf

NOW if you are experiencing death wobble and don't upgrade your track bar you are wasting your time. I can't tell you if the steering gear/box brace helped but it definitley did not hurt.

I can drive anywhere I want, over any train tracks, bridges, pot holes, and bumps. I CAN NOT get my truck to death wobble. Keep in mind all my ball joints are shot, I replaced my tie rods and ends with some junk I bought off ebay about 2 years and 40K miles ago so im sure its all shot too. The track bar that came with those ebay parts literally was garbage. The ball joint end was almost ready to fall apart, the bottom bushing was junk and the sleve fell out.

When we put those junk parts in we aligned it with a tape measure.

My point is a good track bar completely stopped my death wobble. I know there are some other track bar fixes out there and they probably work fine but the 03 upgrade with the Solid Steel bracket makes my truck a complete pleasure to drive again!

Absolutley worth every penny I spent on the parts!

mine is as bad as yours!!! i'm afraid to buy i replacement one cause i think that the hole is wallered out, where the ball joint goes.

Do what I did with the Solid Steel brace and 03 up track bar. I don't think the wallered out hole will hurt the mounting of the bracket

any pics of the install???? where did you by the kit from?? and what was the cost???

I bought the Solid Steel bracket from KLM, The price was $185. 00

Solid Steel Industries - Performance Steering Stabilizers and Track Bar Replacement Bracket

I bought my steering box stabilizer for about the same price KLM offers the solid steel product on their website $209. 00

Finding a good used track bar is a way to save some money but you can go right to the dealership and buy one.
