My neighbor wants to sell his 93 W250 with 82,000 miles on it. It's an auto with apparantly a sick TPS, the tires are only fair and the floor carpet is missing because it got wet and smelled. Otherwise it is a creampuff. No dents, no rust, runs like a top, everything works. I have 2 other first gens that I have fixed up over the years. They are both high mileage W350 SRW manual transmission's that I work pretty hard around the farm and I love them. I kind of wanted to try an auto just for a driver and to tow the boat. I think he's dreaming a bit high at $11000. What do you guys think?

that's definitely high for a stock truck. I just put my 93 D250 in the classifieds, but mine is loaded, big time. All the goodies, 300+ hp, 113,000 miles, and it's cherry. I'm asking $10,500.

oh nothing's wrong ;) - truth be told there are two reasons the rig's for sale. First is we're building a home and we plan to use the $ to put us over the top to start construction and have some reserves. Second... I really don't want to cut this particular rig to make the megacab - it's almost too nice. I'd rather cut up a more beat rig that needs bodywork, etc, verse this one. But, if it doesn't sell I'll have no problem taking advantage of all the mods done and cranking up its near-virgin engine to the next stage, not to mention the turbo setup will be the front half for the twins. What I really want to start with is a decent 5-speed clubcab so I'll have the clutch linkage, etc.

I dunno - kind of a win-win either way. If we sell it we'll build a bit faster. If not I'll still have the rig. I'll say this tho - if it does sell the new owner will be getting a hell of a rig :-laf.

I know the feeling

I didn't want to tear my W350 apart either, it seems like I was attached to it somehow, when you see maybe 3 or 4 first gens a day in your travels, it doesn't feel right taking one off the road. Although, I do see a lot of people turning their heads to look at mine. :D

Not to get anymore off topic DThibault but I think that you should cut that price in half, hopefully the TPS is all thats wrong with the transmission. We need to remember that these trucks are getting old, 16 years or more. :{

Thanks guys, I don't think the seller is going to budge. I know its too much so I have to stop drooling and walk. Its rare to have a truck in such good shape in New England but the original owner oiled the underside every year. I don't know how I could have driven so many of them at once anyway. I have a recab job on my old original 91 I purchased new to do this summer so that will take my mind off it. I found a great rust free 2wd gas job and it will make a nice rig when they are combined. It is also a manual transmission and I am looking for a NV 4500 to replace the ailing Getrag. Thanks again.

... I'll be putting mine back in the classifieds for about $6500. 00. I got a bunch of inquiries at a higher price, but no takers. It's in great shape but I'd just like to see it get a good home at this point. Not sure where Conway Mass is, but I'm down here in Ct just outside of Hartford if you're interested.

how quickly the winds change. Turns out we don't need to sell the truck after all, and it is pulled from the classifieds. Looks like it'll become the megacab of its dreams after all :D

Take $5500 in your pocket, show him. Keep going back to drive it and check it out, many times looking for this and that, but keep comments to yourself... Show $5800, then 6000, then up little by little, he will keep seeing the cash, I bet will give-in under $7000. I did that with mine, started at 6200, down to 5200 with 152K, it's been a great truck! Just my $. 02. Times are hard baby, low mileage truck, cool, however not $11K cool : ~ ))
