What you don't want to find...

Could you imagine your daughters date pulling up in that thing and parking in the driveway for all to see... ... .

I would appreciate a guy - driving a pickup - showing up for a date with my daughter.

If this truck showed up I'd remind him he could date her during daylight hours and he would still owe me the airhorns - and don't worry, I'll remove them while they're at chuckee cheese.

:-laf:-laf:-laf

I have to 2nd that... Grant ya, my daughter is 18 months old, so it better be quite a few years before I see THIS thing in my driveway. But, I fully expect it, she is her mothers' daughter. Momma has a thing for diesel frieks, lucky for me the smell of diesel and used engine oil is an afrodisiac (sp?). Guess that's why she married a poor diesel mechaninc with a cool truck.

I cant wait to talk shop with my girl's boyfriend, I think... .

Uh... still relatively new to the diesel world and TDR so I am missing your point. What is your point? It looks like some young kid went overboard on the accessories to me. While I would never accessorize my truck to such a degree... this owner obviously thinks it is super cool. More power to him or her. That is his or her right I would think.

So... I dont understand why I have to say "goodbye to my diesel". (?):confused:
Great post. Don’t let them pull you down to where you ridicule others to try to fit in here. I'd like to think the TDR is better then that. I also seem to remember a Dodge factory pickup with a gasoline engine and stacks.....

That was the "Lil Red Express" from the late 70s...

Ya, I remember the pre 94 Dodge era, and I'm not just talking about the 1st gen either. pre 1st gen trucks are the ugliest trucks ever built, and I owned one. But they were so well built you can still see one on the road from time to time. But the "Lil Red Express" was an experiment that obviously didn't work very well. But don't take it the wrong way, I would love to own one. I can imagine what one would be worth if it was in mint condition. I'm sorry for stooping so low with my first post in this thread, but it is what it is, and I should have kept my comments to myself.

Hey going back to that Lil Red picture (which I think was an extremely cool vehicle), do any of you remember her little sister the Warlock? All dressed in black with gold graphics and no stacks. That was even cooler!

Still sitting here with a smile on my face 10min. later after that Pic.

Hey, I thought something like that would have a Blue Oval on the front of it!

I just knew there had to be a Mexican tie-in on this. After all, to quote Cheech and Chong in the "Santa Claus and His Old Lady" story: It's got "twice pipes. "

Far Out, Man :D

Hah! Jeez guys... . I feel pretty dumb. .... . should have picked up on that but how was I supposed to know it was a gasser from that pic? Probably another dumb question. :-laf:eek: but I am slowly learning.

5 lug wheels - can only be a 1500, so it's gotta be a gassser.

I think that truck looks pretty cool, just like the big-rigs. Dual upright large exhaust stacks, air horns, extra lighting, oversize chrome front bumper, removed bed.

The only thing I think is wrong, the fact it is a 1500 gas engine truck and a MPG killer.

more like the big sister, with its available 440. unlike the lil red, you caould get anything from a 225 slant six to a big block in a warlock, and even 4wd. the lil red was a last attempt at an american hot rod, since the cars were smog'd out and the truck emissions crap hadnt come into play much. original plans called for the E58 police 360 with W2 heads, although the heads didnt make production. iirc, it was the quickest american production vehicle for one of its two years of production.

a lil red is the ONLY vehicle i would own with stacks, as i dont see myself buying a semi or large tractor anytime soon.

i would love to own a lil red express it was the fastest production vehicle that year, beat the corvette. a decent one is worth a fortune. 360 engine.

Not an exact quote from a car magazine editor, but something close---

"Every generation does something dumb with the automobile"

I could make a list, but might have to include what I did 25 years ago!
