After 5 years of service, it is time to give my truck's suspension a tune up. I plan on keeping her for at least another 5 years since it only has 65K on the clock and is very solid.

I have done some research and am leaning toward the Carli-Suspension 2. 0 Performance system. I also have some play in the original ball joints so I plan to go with the Carli uppers at the same time. Now I have two questions.

1. Are there anyother items I should have taken care of (axle u joints, drive- line u-joints, etc) while the truck torn down?

2. Recommend a good shop, better yet a Great Shop, to handle the job. I

don't mind spending the money but I want it done right!

I live about 4 hours from Carli Suspension in Orange, CA. and about 2. 5 hours from one of their dealers in San Luis Obispo. I don't have any experience with either of the shops so any recommendations would be appreciated.

Check to see if your truck is covered by the safety recall regarding your steering system. There are threads about the new Dodge steering kit, what parts they include and why they are much better than the existing parts you have.

Is there a web site to check or do you mean just call a dealer? I haven't received anything in the mail.

SORRY I don't mean to hi-jack this thread so here is some quick info----There is information on another dodge diesel site regarding this issue. There is also a web site on one of the threads that you enter the last 8 digets of your vin to see if your truck is affected. I don't remember the web site right now--i'll try to check on it. I think Dodge is going to send out letters next week regarding the safety recall(H36).

Thanks to pullya and others for their responses. If someone can come up with the web site, I'll check my VIN to see if I am included in the safety recall.

Do not be confused by the h46 recall... ... ... ... ... It does not give you the new steering system. If you had the new style installed and it was not with the later tie rod end that will be addressed. If the correct pitman arm was not installed that will be addressed etc

Wow! I entered my vin. # and a safety issue with the steering linkage has been found. Issue date is 4-27-09. I guess something's coming in the mail.

:-laf only applies if you had the new style steering installed. They had no way of knowing what trucks they went on so all 3rd gen hd's will be inspected

Call the Source(Carli) and discuss it with him. They do installs in Orange or might recommend an installer closer. Good stuff.

Carli it is! I will call and talk about any other work they would recommend be handled at the same time and to get an estimate. My choice for the 2. 0 Performance system is based upon reading only. Sorta surprised that I didn't get any opinions on my choice or comments from anyone who has the system. Thanks to those that did respond.

Bryan Howell @ DieselPowerProducts is an authorized Carli distributor and has the 2. 0 installed on his truck. His # is: 866-379-8685.

I've driven most the different systems Carli offers they all work great for their indended use. The trick is to be honest with your self on how and where you drive at what kind of speeds and loads. Many of the guys I know have started at one level and then move up as they get more comfortable with speed off road.
