The Nitto tires are E rated, I run 50 pounds in the front tires

I run 65 front and back in my MIchelin Ltx/at2 e rated. The Defiant steering box brace helped TONS. The e's can hold up to 80 cold psi... more pressure may well stiffen the ride and keep it from flexing and wanderin. It could be a simple, and cheap (ie free) experiment before you try other things.

And here is my 2 cents... . After purchasing my used 06' (CTD, QC, auto, SB, 4x4,70k miles) a couple of months ago, I knew I had some steering issues... (Note: I owned a new 04. 5 dually CTD, QC, 6-speed and hauled professionally with it and NEVER had ANY issues with anything, sold it after a year with about 100k on the clock). On my 06' I wanted to fix the wander issue, so here is what I have done to date... Dealer replaced upper and lower ball joints and aligned it. I did the following - New Rancho 5000 shocks in front, new upgrade steering kit, pitman arm, stabilizer, Lukes Trac bar bushings, I had the steering box rebuilt locally by Straight Line Steering (they said the box was worn a bit and it did have a small amount of play at the sector shaft) filled box with ATF+4 synthetic fluid (2. 25 qts), adjusted Caster, set toe to 1/16", adjusted air pressure to 60 lbs in front, 50 in rear, (have not rotated the BFG stock tires or balenced them yet). I have also done the following - RS9000 adj shocks in rear, Hellwig sway bar in rear, air bags, longer bottom out stops and brakes, Titan hitch with extension. In summary, the ball joints were bad, the tie rod ends were worn, and steering box had some slope. The truck now drives better, and obviously is tighter "BUT" still have a sense of wander to it. Out of buget, now what?

Are you having to almost chase the truck with the steering wheel? I had my box go out on me and it had a lot of play in the wheel and i was constantly chasing the truck with the steering wheel to go in a straight line. Needless to say I avoided having any drinks before driving when my truck was in this condition... . :-laf

:-laf Mike you had NO center it was a b to drive.

I still have not driven one that was better after being adjusted.

Relace it or have it rebuilt.
