getting new old '92 together. it is a 350 2wd with at. don't know rear axel ratio. what is ball park towing capacity for the vehicle?

thanks for your time.

10,000lb bumper pull, 12,000-14,000 fifth wheel/gooseneck.

12,000 with mine and it wants to be run in 2nd gear most of the time to control transmission temp. A 3200rpm spring would help to let it tow faster than 55mph in second. Or a tighter torque converter would help hold temp down in third.

thanks. clearly i need to get a set of gauges though boat weighs in at about 8,000 # and dont expect to be towing anything else.

10,000lbs doesn't seem to bother it much with the 3. 5 axle. If you've got a 4. 10 you can pull quite a bit more in third. "Highway speed" may be variable, but mine will run 55+ in second. We do have quite a few steep hills in this area, if you're towing on relatively flat terrain you'll also be able to tow more. I'd think that 8000lbs won't be much of a problem. I would strongly suggest a transmission temp gauge in any case as that will be the limiting factor in towing.

'93 auto, 3. 55 rears, 3200rpm spring, I tow my Ramcharger up north and back (4. 5 hours, 250+ miles one way) at between 70-80mph in third no problem. Ramcharger I'd probably put at around 4500-5000lbs, trailer is 2000lbs. Still does it in just over a tank, there and back, too.
