Has anyone had experence with the popup SB116 gooseneck extension?

I have a 2006 Megacab and a full fronted Featherlite trailer that likes to find the rear window!!!! The truck has a B&W in the bed and this looks like it might help the problem...

Thanks in advance for your comments...

i asked the same thing when i bought my mega cab. I got the B&W turn over ball and the 4 inch extender from B&W and i don't have and problem with my gooseneck. The trailer tapers down to 5 1/5 or 6 foot on the nose. You just have to watch when you turn sharp or backing around things its not like an 8 foot bed i can tell you that.

Thanks for the info My trailer is full width in front 7. 5 feet.

My concern is does this extender that moves it back 16 inches really work or just create other issues?

Thanks

PopUp Industries: SB1 Short Bed Extended Gooseneck Trailer Coupler

I didn't know until a minute ago when I looked at my bookmarked link to PopUp Industries that Young's Welding owns Pop Up. I don't know if Young's Welding was always the behind the scenes owner or has recently acquired Pop Up.

IMO, any product that either Popup or Young's Welding manufactures is a quality product that can be trusted.

Both companies are located in the same small industrial park that NuWa Industries, Inc, maker of HitchHiker fifth wheels is located in. Young's Welding builds the frames for HitchHiker Champagnes and some HitchHiker Discover Americas (my fifth wheel).

I have had an up close and personal business relationship as a customer with Young's and have nothing but praise for their integrity and the quality of their work.

Likewise, a friend of mine has used an RV-5 Pop Up fifth wheel kingpin extender for several years to pull his 30' fifth wheel with his '06 Dodge Ram 3500 sb srw. It has served him perfectly and he swears by it.

I would buy with confidence any product manufactured and sold by either Young's Welding or Pop Up Industries. They operate with old-fashioned mid-western American values of honesty, quality products, and friendly, helpful service. So does NuWa/HitchHiker.

that extender that moves it back 16 inches looks great but what about the weight on the truck from the trailer. I would think the would be the weakest part, and more likey to break were it extended 16 inches, that and turning will the gooseneck hit the bed inside side to side or even the tailgate. You might want to start think about an diffrent trailer.

... ... ..... You might want to start think about an diffrent trailer.

Or a different truck.

I have no idea whether the extender will strike your bed but... ...

If Pop Up Industries/Young's Welding sells it and you use it to carry/tow within its rated weight, it won't break.
