I got a email today.

"Jamie,

I saw your truck in the Reader's Rides area of the 8-Lug web site and I want to put it into the magazine. Can you send me the full-sized photo? The one's on the web are too small to use. I just need one, I would prefer the one that I've attached.

I watched your thread and the progress you made, you did it right and your truck is beautiful, a truck and owner could not be more deserving, congratulations!!!!

Hey Cummins724,

That is awesome. The best thing about it is that you actually did all of the work yourself. You got better than professional results and you did yourself.

I subscribe to Diesel Power mag and many of the featured rigs talk about all of the mods done, but these guys are just dropping big $$$ letting someone else wrench and modify their trucks. I'm sure that helps the economy, but you should take extra satisfaction knowing you did all of it yourself (in your spare time... )

Congrats!

You should take some real nice pics of your truck, against some attractive backdrop, and submit it to TDR for the annual calendar - if it doesn't make the cut, someone's asleep in the editing department! ;):)

Great work, as I've said before!

I'd bet if they let us all vote he'd make the calender,Oo. that thread lasted a long time and I really got enjoyment reviewing it weekly, I wish I had his ability, maybe those who make the calender decision are reading this thread, It would be great to see his truck pic in the calender where some of us knew the history behind the truck, I'll hope to see it there

Thank you very much. My old man helped me build my first car instead of buying me one like alot of parents do. I asked him why & he replied "Because if you are working for the money, then buying/building yourself. . You will take good care of it instead of beating it up. " He was right about that. He past away in 02' & this truck build is dedicated to my dad & all the things he taught me. The name of the truck on 8 Lug is "Built not bought" for that reason.

Thanks Gary. I've been planning on doing that exact thing. I'm searching for the right place to get good pics as we speak.

Thanks. I'm going to get good pics & submit them as Gary suggested. I'm glad I have your support. Means alot.

Maybe - but you need a much closer shot - one that especially displays the neat new *custom* paint job...

From the distance in the above pics, truck APPEARS to be pretty much stock... ;)
