Here I am

For all you critics about my last thread!

Thanks, TDR Staff

Help, I need 2 of these Exhaust hangers.

Diesel shops in Las Vegas?

So I tell the truth about bad service from a beloved TDR vendor and I get my *** kicked by a bunch of Kool-Aid drinkers about bashing a great vendor! Well, here's "THE REST OF THE STORY"!

Not only could Standard Transmission NOT get the unit to Washington to my mechanic in the time promised, they CHARGED MY CREDIT CARD $2100. 00! For a transmission I never got on time, and refused delivery on!!!! Oh, yes, they did credit another guy named Steve... . My Mechanic is Steve Studebaker of Steve's automotive, so the guy credited some other guy with a first name of Steve, and billed ME!!!

So, I, repeat ,I, had to call the company when I saw the charge on my credit card. Charlie did take care of it and did call me back explaining the whole F' up! Kuddos to him, but THIS is exactly the **** service that lost my business, and for you goobers who judged me for being honest and made stupid assumptions about my experience with 12 valves and this truck I say, KISS MY ***! Not only did they not deliver, but they gave credit to some other dude named Steve and charged me! Do I want a transmission built by these folk??? Unreal... ... Just unbelievable.

Ever damn thing I have said is 100% accurate!

I've had really bad service from some companies in the past. Always sucks to be the one person that was missed. In the future don't forget to try Rip at sourceautomotive. biz near Portland.

Hope your CTD is up and running.

I refuse to explain my position again on this subject! But,I will tell you I do not and have not, drunk the Kool-Aid!!

With that said... . and with all you've been through with your transmission and 2 shops now... ... I WILL say that if I were in your shoes at this point,I would certainly agree whole-heartedly with you on this one. I wouldn't worry too much about it though, enough treatment like this to other TDR members and regular customers will soon nail the coffin on their business.

It was not my intention to offend you in any way Salty,my position was that minor errors can be over-shadowed by huge internet scorning. In this case,it appears you original post of alarm is indeed, accurate.

Reading this new thread makes it crystal clear now why you experienced a problem with a known and trusted vendor. With an attitude and personality like the one displayed here it is probably pretty common to encounter bad service from indifferent retailers.

Here's another way to tell the same story:

I ordered a transmission from vendor X across the country who normally provides great customer service and is both respected and appreciated by most customers. Unfortunately, the service wasn't great this time.

I experienced an unexpected longer delivery time caused by a mixup in shipping or transportation. My transmission was temporarily lost in transit and the vendor was unable to track it when I called. I needed it asap and called to locate it. It must have been a busy time when I called and the phone sales rep couldn't locate my shipment immediately so I cancelled the order and ordered one locally.

Later, the shipment showed up. I had already purchased another one so returned the transmission to the vendor and asked that my credit card charge be reversed. Somehow they made a mistake and refunded the charge to my transmission shop owner whose name was on the shipping invoice instead of me and I had to call again to get that error corrected.

I'm disappointed but I guess it was a bad time for that vendor. Oh well, mistakes happen sometimes, even at companies that normally provide great service.

I regretted not being able to use that transmission from vendor X, lots of TDR members have praised them on the website. I sure hope my transmission built locally is as good as one would have been from that vendor but I simply didn't have time to wait for the late and misplaced shipment.

Doesnt it sound like the vendor corrected the issue upon its discovery?? Honest mistakes do happen. Shipping issues happen as well.

Better watch out! Obama may need a new spokesman in the near future. :D

Who's paying the shipping charges on this. To ship a 400lb transmission from Ft. Worth to

Washington, and back. Someone took a "hickie". I would guess Standard got stuck for it.

Let's clarify for your o-ring lickers

1. Could NOT deliver as promised.

2. Charged customer for unit anyway.

3. Credited another customer.

4. Screwed everything up that they could!

5. I aknowledged that they "may" indeed build a good unit!

6. Everything I stated was/is FACT.

Ya'll have two decisions:

1. Take that information and use it wisely if and when dealing with said vendor.

2. Spend valuable time trying to tell me how "I'm" bad for being srtraight forward and honest.

Simple as that.

I have had years of flaw free expert mechanical support to which I have recommended dozens. They were likewise unimpressed! So, yeah these Standard guts may be 99% and I may be the 1%, BUT that doesn't negate that 1 %.

Now, rather than respond with more bull****, just get on with life and file this accurate info should you ever deal with this company.

Drive safely!

The more you write on here, the more negative publicity you will recieve. You made your bold statement and announced that you were dis-pleased with a Company so leave it at that. I would bet that even people that DID support your claim in the beginning would probably stand down and react differently.

Just leave it alone before you lose all credibility!

Cancell my membership!

The one thing I tried to use on this site was bad. I state honest facts and get lambasted by goobers. Cancell my subscription! I want nothing to do with this cult. There is NOTHING here I cannot get elsewhere without the BULL****.

Keep the $30 but cancell me. I'm done.

Hey Salty, you did the right thing posting your experience. Don't let them run you off. If they didn't want to hear you, they didn't have to listen. Randy

Continual name calling only makes you look bad. Intelligent people are able to draw their own conlusions when presented with facts. Your name calling makes your statements less credible.

Let him go... ..... :{We can appreciate your posting your dealings with a vendor but the attitude you present, quite frankly sucks. I can tell you that if I had you coming at me on the phone with a problem with your attitude. I would do everything in my power to drag it out as long as a could.

I agree

I agree with you the company said they would and they didnt. I get the same thing with some of the things I order online. When it comes down to it I dont want to hear about the problems I just want my parts. At work we get the same crap when a driver puts the wrong fuel in the wrong tank. The company really doesn't want to know the reason just cause you had a problem at home. that really chaps my butt every one has a problem but you still need to preform. And yes there are dummies that put gas in diesel try that in your motor (8800 gal of gas) in a 12k tank of diesel. The company is still trying to fix all the motors form class 8 to 4 wheelers with Diesel motors. So much for my bonus this 1/4. sorry I just let off some steam
