I m thinking if getting 275 rv injectors what do you guys think? All theyre cracked up to be. My trk has a 4" exhaust, afe intake, tst powermaxx 3, ddrp + carter lift pumps, ats three peice manifold, big head wastegate, pacbrake, 5 speed with south bend clutch.

From what i'm told they are. I've got a friend that went one step up and went to 100 h. p. injectors. He said he can tell a defference in power, but, he liked mile and a half in better fuel mileage. I'm like you, I want to go w/R. V. injectors, it's just a question of money for me.

If you've got the South Bend clutch I'd go bigger than 275s. You could get the same mileage with Formula 1 Mach 1. 6 injectors but have more power. They're going to cost more but I bet you'd be a lot happier with them.

The Mach 1. 6s might get your EGT a little on the warm side if you still have your stock turbo and you tow, but it would be manageable with your right foot.

The 275 is a good injector. The price is right but as has been said, for more $$ a better choice can be had. The Mach 1. 6's will give you about twice the power increase of the 275's.

I've had 275's in since shortly after I bought the truck back in '02 (warranty, What's that?) It really woke it up. Nice pep and yes an increase in MPG slightly. I drove a friend of mines which is completely stock and it seemed lethargic. :-laf Don't know how much $ they're going for now tho.

Just a thought.

Tell me more

My 99 is completely stock. Would the 275's make a difference if I have a stock lift pump etc? I wouldnt mind adding a little extra pep to mine, and adding some fuel milage. Anyone have a current part number?

Thanks

Craig

I'd just go an Edge EZ or comparable box. 65 rwhp w/boost elbow and double that in torque.

I owned an '01 HO/6 spd. Joe Donnelly installed a set of Bosch 275hp MH injectors in it for me at a TDR rally in Kerrville, TX when the truck was only a few months old. The injectors made a huge difference in acceleration and pulling power with no negative side effects other than a need to watch the pyro gauge when pulling a trailer up a grade. I put 325k miles on it before selling it to my son-in-law. The same injectors are still in it after eight years and 350k miles.

A bit of evidence: On the trip to the TDR rally (before injectors) I was pulling an 8,500# Airstream and had to drop down to fifth gear (3. 54 gears) on an I-10 grade west of Kerrville. A month later, with the 275hp injectors installed, same hill, same direction, same road speed, this time with my wife with me and more "stuff" in the trailer, the truck pulled the same grade in 6th gear with cruise control set. No downshift required.

The injectors do make a set of gauges mandatory to monitor egt.

Here's my story... I've got a pretty steep hill near my house that I've used as a gauge for torque improvements. In stock form my truck would have to shift from O/D to 3rd to maintain speed, 60mph. I then added the box and that cured the down shift, but it would again down shift if I had my empty pickup box trailer in tow. I then added the RV275's and now it'll pull that hill without down shifting (even accellerate) with my unloaded 18' 10k car hauler (about 2000#?). I'm pleased with the improvement!

Good Luck!

If I added 275's to my rig, could I get away without a boost fooler?
TIA

Yes, they work great as a stand alone modification. With just the addition of a set of RV275 injectors your HO engine will produce about 280 hp @ the rear wheels and approximately 550 ft. lbs. of torque. Joe Donnelly dyno tested trucks with the injectors a few years ago and has reported the results here and in the TDR magazine.

so if you add a ez box with those rv275's what kinda hp and ft. lbs would i get in my ho 6 speed?

thanks

With the '98. 5 the box seemed to add more power alone than the Mach 1. 6's I had did with the EZ disconnected. 90 hp injectors with the box=clutch or transmission time. The EZ alone with the boost elbow is a simple way to gain much more efficiency out of the engine. No smoke either. Anyway, back to the RV 275's. They work and they're a bargain. Sorry to stray.

I am also wanting to put 275s into my 02 HO with a smarty. Who sells the injecters?

Joe suggested this to me 2 yrs. ago at May Maddnes. Now is the time 220,000 mi.

I installed a TAG & muffler eliminater made some improvement already.

Joe I talked to you two Years ago at May Madness about a programmer and injectors for my 02 HO. I have not been able to locate Bach 75hp injectors. Who is a good supplier for them and any other parts needed. I am ordering a Smarty soon.

Thank you Harry injectors

See you a '10 May Madeness

Harvey, I was there in '01. Very familiar with the "hills" East and West of Kerrville. Only 75 miles from me.
Was very naive at the time, having no mods at the time. Learned a lot listening to Joe and Piers.
Now, those "hills" are a breeze in 5th over with the 37' fiver in tow. Still have the old 12 valve '96.
