Went to start papaw this morning and the key rotated all the way to the start position without engaging the starter. I found that if i push the key in real hard and turn it that it will start, but I'm sure this won't last.

Anyone had this problem? I think I will have to replace the ignition switch, but don't know exactly how to go about doing it.

I have a Haynes manual for the truck, but it gives no help at all. The local Advance auto has one in stock for $73, anyone had any experience/problems with them?

Have not yet had to replace the ignition switch on the truck yet, but I have had to do so on several cars, and did not find it difficult to do. Good luck.

Any dealer can do the recall check for you. It's a good idea to do since there are quite a few. While you are at the dealer, also ask for a 'build sheet'. This is a printout of all the major components used to build your truck and is handy when ordering parts in the future.
