This may or may not be the place to ask this question but has anybody done an extended cab long bed conversion to a crew cab short bed? If so how difficult is it and how well do they line up? Thanks

I am

Hey Skinner, I'm almost finished mine. I had a slightly wrecked 93 Dodge W250 and grafted on an 85 crew cab body. The frame on the 93 jutted up earlier as opposed to the crew cab frame. There are two ways to address this, 1st was to go with a body lift and the second was to cut and weld the rear floor on the crew cab.

I re grafted the floor on the 85 to follow the contour of the 93 frame. The only area that needs attention is in ther of the crew.

I am using the 93 Grille/headlight system and the 93 dash in the 85.

There are a couple of minor mods you will have to worry about. If yours is an auto, the auxillary transmission cooler will have to find another spot; I moved mine to the spare tire area under the rear of the box. And if I'm not mistaken, a couple of the body mounts will have to be moved.

Good luck.

Ron

Do you have any pics of your truck? does the short bed line up right on that frame? Send me some pics of the cab where you had to mod it. I'm pretty sure I'm going to do this to my truck. Thanks for the input, Heath
