Time for some tires on the 07 dually with 33000 miles on the stock tires, probable can make it to 40K but up here we can get a fair amount of snow/ice some days/-30C/-40Cbelow. I have been looking at the Goodyear Silent Armor in the stock size(235/80/17--31. 8inches tall,220. 00 a tire out the door,mounted/bal/road hazard/tax--- yadda yadda yadda )BUT -------what are you other dually drivers running in a bigger size and have had goodluck without the rears touching, preferable 33 inch. I don't want to have to change rims and i know my option are limited, just want to move up one size or inch, may have to use a small spacer on the rear. Just want to know if i have any other options in size----suggestions please and no tire brand wars:-{}:-{}:-{}:D:D:D DW THANKYOU

I stayed with the stock size (LT235/85R16) since they stopped making a 255/85R16 and the next taller tire is a 285/75R16 which is a lot wider and won't fit on a 6" rim anyway. I don't know why the 255s disappeared since lots of people like a tall skinny tire.

I just purchased some 255/80/17, that is a 33" tall tire. This is a MT so the tread is aggressive and was the only Tire in that size I could find. I should have them mounted by the end of the week and will give an update.

Are the GoodYears OWL?. It's hard to fing a good quality BSW these days. I only run BSW as to get all six into the rotation.

You can technically mount 4 "front" tires and run OWL's and still rotate..... you will always rotate the front tires to the inner duals and the outside duals will always remain outside duals.

I think they are OWL,also looking at BFG A/T in 285/70/17(32. 78 inch) tire and run some spacers. Apparently from reading on all the sites, some guy are running 265/70/17 without any spacers and there is plenty of room between the duals. I bought the spacers(2") but may or may not use them. I run the BFG on my 2001 3/4 ton and have about 35000 miles on them, probable get another 10/15000 more. DW

DWeiler-

I have been running BFG 265-70-17s Rugged Trail and have been real pleased with the tire performance and mileage. I also pull various trailers ranging in weight from 5k to 10k and have not had any issues with the tires rubbing the inner walls on the "duals". Note: I am running 65 PSI in the front and 50 PSI in the back which i think works the best for normal wear. I can tell you these tires are no taller than the stock 235's but they look a little better on my dually because I have a level kit in the front. Basically I needed something to fill the wheel-wells (spelling). ALSO NOTE: You will notice some of the different brands out there look a little wider than the others even though they are the same size..... which is due to the tire pattern. Pay close attention to this because they may touch when pulling. I have a few friends with the same size that have less space between the duals than I do. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

2"Spacers arrived today from "wheeladaptors.com" ,may run them or not,BFG's A/T in either 265's or 285 70/17 run the same price---just have to make a choice now which way i want to go. THANKS for the advice-------I have looked at most of the major tire brands out there and i seem to keep coming back to the BFG A/T"s,been running them on all my rides for 20+ years(usually get 50,000 miles out of a set with proper rotation),just wondering if there were anything better----might as well stick with what i know than take a chance on a "New Tire" brand.
