p2149 code

p2149 code with a three cylinder misfire has been intermittent for awhile now, finally it stayed constant long enough to figure out with basic hand tools a smarty, a multi meter and service manual #2, checked harness from c-1 57 pin tan/pnk wire from engine ecm to the middle and rear deutz 4 wire plugs on the rocker box, it checked good, so i removed the valve cover and checked from the deutz plug pins to the injector driver wires, also found nothing wrong, with driver wires removed from the injector solenoids, i ohmed out the solenoids, 1,2,3,4,6 turned out to be . 5 ohms, #5 was 5. 6 ohms, i hooked all the injector wires back up, installed valve cover etc, removed rear rocker box deutz plugg, removed tan/pnk wire for number five injector, reinstalled plugg without #5 tn/pnk. , cleared codes and started engine for a few seconds and noticed i only had a single cylinder misfire instead of three followed by a p205 inj #5 instead of a p2149 inj circuit 2 which brings the conclusion of number five injector solenoid is bad therfore causing my 2149 code by shorting the tn/pnk wire and not giving me a p205 code, the 2149 gives me a three cylinder miss fire while the 205 is only one. i dont have time right now to remove and repair the injector yet to finish the troubleshooting but i will in a week or so.

Yep, sounds like a dead short on a solenoid. I have seen guys go as far as replacing an ECM when they could not get it figured out. It fools them by the way it takes out the whole bank and not just one injector

it did infact turn out to be the solenoid, cost me 30 dollars and little less than an hour to make the repair not including the initial troubleshooting, beats buying a whole new injector.

makes me wonder if this might be my issue, how bad of a stutter or misfire were you getting going down the road when the condition initially started? I've got a stutter starting to develop, but there is no rhyme or reason as to when or why it does it with no CE light flashing,... yet.

i had a minor flutter at 2200 rpm, but couldnt tell loaded or towing, then all of a sudden i had a three cylinder misfire and mt truck sounded like a sick airplane.

This is very similar to my symptoms, it's getting worse, but over the past 4k miles it's not unbearable just concerning and getting more frequent.
