Amalgamated
Searched old posts. Seemed like most are from back before the diesel was changed. Talked to a guy who works on injection pumps who said since diesel was changed need to use additives in fuel to lube injection pump. Any ideas?
The fuel providers add their own additives at the rack to make up the difference... they are not needed unless you want to run them.
Overuse of additives *may* actually do more harm than good...
Diesel power magazine just ran a test showing some positive results.

Hello
Interesting article. My 96 Dodge has over 255,000. Get's 20. 4 mpg, and I change the oil @ around 12,000 miles. I have been using Amagamated for fuel and LE-8800 engine oil, with no problems and all original components.
Good Driving,
JL
The Best combo i have found is Amsoil performance additive, and the Amsoil cetain improver combined with the 2-stroke oil. This same combo can be used with stanadyn PI instead of the amsoil too.
But milage is best when useing the amsoil stuff, about a 3-4 MPG will be seen when driving between 55-64 mph.
anyone else seen these results?
I have seen only a 1. 5-2 MPG improvement in useing the Amsoil stuff alone.
the 2-stroke oil helps make the difference. but it does smoke alittle more

One thing to point out about that study... they used UNADDITIZED fuel,
