What kind of mods are available for non-intercooled 1991 dodge with cummins? I am a common rail guy going retro... lol. any tweaks? any airflow mods other than turbo? does any know a source for a aftermarket exhuast manifold on a non-intercooled 1991 dodge with cummins?

You need to read the FAQ section about the first gen performance.

That will start you off and answer many/most of your questions.

After that we can help fill in the gaps.

Somewhere down the line you might want an intercooler. I added one and it does wonders. Not a necessary thing but as you move up the power scale... ... . Just somthing to keep in mind.

If it is pre-cooler the cyl is already cracked so the three piece manifold is going to be moot. The updated heads, begining in 1991. 5 will require smaller injectors. The three piece manifold would be the same as any 12 valve five-nine engine for the Dodge application.

The cracks are around the injector bores thus this head was phased out in favor of the smaller bore (for 7mm injectors)

The intake horn from (just about) any application will work as the bolt pattern is the same. This would include OE horns and aftermarket castings. I like to build my own.

The addition of aftermarket horns has been a subject of much debate in terms of performance. I just like the looks of them, compared to the small OE aluminum cast. I seriously doubt my trucks go any faster... ... ... . 500 RWHP doesn't seem to be a problem with the OE design.

I would not say the head is necessarily cracked. It depends on how hard the engine was worked in it's career. It may be fine.

If you like doing the boneyard thing you can get nice intake horns from Freightliners, etc. that were Cummins powered. Bill what's his name ;) got a nice one for me that was a full 3 inch ID and I used it to build my own intake system for my non I/C engine.
